Dear Ms. Moore,
You have always been an inspiration to me.  I had the priviledge of meeting you back in 1978  while back stage at the Circle Star theatre in San Carlos, Ca.  You made such an impression on me with your words.
The thing you told me was "not matter what, , never give up hope."  Believe me I have called upon those words many a time in my life since meeting you that evening and when I have been at my most down times,  recalling your words brought me back up.  Thank you so much for that.
By the way your performance was great  that evening and I've never forgotten the power in your beautiful voice.  I wish to thank YOU for never giving up and going on with your God given talent.
May you always be surrounded with God's Angels to keep you safe  from dashing your foot against any stones and  I pray you will always be under the shadow of our allmighty Heavenly Father in Christ Jesus name.

With much respect.

Years ago I saw a stage play called, ""Momma Im Sorry,"" and I remember you in it. I was wondering if you or your management team could point me in the right direction to getting a hold of that on VHS or DVD? I would be such a blessing to me and my family. Thank you very much for your time. Blessings"

Hello Melba.  I just want to say thank you for all of your music over the years.  I enjoyed your performance in the play, Purlie. I wish you would do more tours.  However, I did note where you are on tour with Mel'isa Morgan.  I hope you will continue to walk with Christ.  You have a voice that can have a significant impact one.  Congratulations on a fantastic career and I look forward to hearing more from you.

Hello Ms. Moore,
I have been trying to find the movie you played in 1981 "Purlie" I am trying to find it for my mom. She will be 75 years old, and she would love to see the play again. I remember seeing it when I was about seven. Can you tell me where I can get a copy.

Melba I must tell you that the first time I saw you or even heard you sing was at the Teddy Pendergrass fund raiser in Philly. You were fabulous. We say you sitting alone at the after party and were going to ask you to join our table but at the moment someone came over to you table and knocked over a drink. Thought you might want to just get away. I would like to see you perform again. Hope you come to Baltimore soon or maybe see you at another function of Teddy's.

Last night I saw the legendary Melba Moore at the Rrrazz Room in San Francisco.  I remember her in "Purlee" where I first fell in love with her singing and performance. It was great see this wonderful entertainer back on the stage.  All of her fans turned out to see her in the new room.

I am writing a regional review of her show for www.talkinbroadway.com. It should be in about one week.

Dear Ms. Moore, I just saw your story on unsung on tvone, and was in shock that you had to endure such hard times. I am glad however that you learned how to forgive for your as well as for your daughter.  I hope to see you at an event should you be near Boston or NYC sometime.  I have always enjoyed your music and loved seeing you in movies and such.  I wish you all the best, and hope to meet you someday.  Much love,  Stephany

Hi Melba,
I'm thrilled to have found your site. The first Broadway play I saw was Purlie.  I was 16, and it was my first trip to NYC.  You can't imagine the thrill I had that night.  It launched my love of theatre, and you!  I remember the rocking pit orchestra, with a lady conducter (sorry don't have my program still)that was autographed by you and Cleavon Little). I listen to that cd, as well as all the vinyl I have collected through the years of your beautiful voice.  I'm interested in your new live show, and was wondering if you have any plans for a stop in Chicago.  I'll be the first in line.

Hi Melba, this message comes to you from Miss Tina Harrison of the United Kingdom, Birmingham, your music was first brought to my attention when i joined my first group in 1983 and they asked me to sing two of your songs, as they said i sounded like you, the songs i song were, (Loves Coming At Ya and Gotta Make Your Mind Up Tonight), Loves Coming At Ya was a hit where ever we song, you were my inspriration to continue singing and love all your music.  I did give up singing to have my family, which i regret, but i have been asked to start singing again, so i will continue on and practice with your songs, as you have a very powerful vocal range and if you ever decide to visit the UK please feel free to drop me a line so that i can hear you sing, maybe one day i would be able to sing with my idle, god bless you love from Tina  in the UK x
